BLESS; Story; 12.3.23
At the end of the day, it's our words and stories that help people meet Jesus.
-John 4:7-42 -Romans 10:14-15
When God comes in the flesh and wants to connect with the woman at the well in John 4, he starts the conversation about his own needs and weaknesses (asking for a drink). What does that tell you about God's character and how we might interact with people who don't follow Jesus?
Can you share a story about something that changed in your life that does not have to do with you faith (like Ron's story about coffee)? Can you write down or share a story or two about what God has done in your life? What are the major pieces to those stories?
Take turns in your group sharing a story or two about what God has done in your life through Jesus. Has a prayer been answered? Forgiveness received? Relationship healed? Miracle witnessed? Peace been given? ect...
What barriers do you have to sharing your story? What scares you about that idea? What excites you? What questions would you have?
Write down 4-8 people that are not following Jesus that you can be a blessing to. Start keeping notes for yourself as you Begin with Prayer, Listen, Eat, Serve, and Share your Story.
Jesus, you were a blessing to the Samaritan woman at the well. Make us a blessing to those around us as we share our stories of what you have done in our lives. Help us to be full of peace and joy as we offer what we have to a world in need. It is in your name we pray, Amen.
