QUESTIONS
About God
Psalm 139:7-8 says "Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!"
God's love for us is inescapable, even though we sometimes try to hide ourselves from him. God's love pursues us, wooing us, working in our lives in ways we may never be aware of.
Where have you seen God working in your life?
About Me
Father Stu was an example of suffering well. As a child of God, we can go to him with our anger, despair, grief, or any other emotion.
In what ways have you been angry or disappointed with God? How have you dealt with those emotions?
Community
God took an angry, broken-hearted boxer and made him a priest; took Saul, an oppressor of Christians and made him into a champion of the faith.
What would seeing God's love take root in the heart of our community look like? What is our part to play in that?
Mission
God has a plan for each of us. A calling to be an everyday missionary, showing the love of Christ to people that God has put in our lives. People that may only be able to hear about it from you.
Who has God put on your heart lately? Who may you be uniquely suited to show the love of God?
Action
Take a moment and think of someone you know that loves the people around them well.
Spend some time thinking of ways you can follow their example. Then, get out there and show some love!
Lord, we thank you for your unfailing love. We ask that you show us how to lay down things that we are carrying that keep us from your will in our lives. We ask that you help us see how you are at work, in our lives and the lives of those around us. Help us love others well; help us suffer well. Let us be a light in a world that can sometime seem so dark. Amen.
