QUESTIONS

About God
Numbers 14:10-20 describes a scenario where God himself was losing his patience. Moses reminded God of his character. How does it make you feel knowing that even God needed to be “talked off the ledge” at times? What does that say about the way He understands us on our journey of being transformed into the image of Jesus?

About Me
1 Thessalonians 5:14 tells us to be patient with everyone. This includes being patient with ourselves. Is there an area in your life where you wish you were different? Pastor Brett discussed how we often feel “the gap” but dont always take the time to acknowledge it, to name it. What are the areas that you lack patience with yourself?

Community
Everyday, we have the opportunity to glorify God with our patience for others: help the weak, encourage the disheartened and lovingly warn those who are idle, disruptive (1 Thessalonians 5:14). Who is someone in your life that you have found it difficult to love and be patient with as of late?

Mission
Read Luke 15:12-24. Although his son sinned against him, the father welcomed him home with love and forgiveness as soon as the son asked for it. This is the heart of our Father in Heaven. How can you engage differently with others this week based on this scripture?

Action
During the sermon, Brett asked that we draw a line down the middle of a piece of paper. On one side, answer this question: Who do you wish to be? On the other, answer this question: Where are you now? Pray. Use this finding to drive you to the Lord and receive his mercy.

Lord, we know we are not all that You created us to be and we are sorry. Thank you for your patience, kindness and love for us. Help us to have the same patience, kindness and love for ourselves and all others. We receive Your mercy and grace. Transform us into the image of Jesus. Amen.
